Hinbarra (Mixed Voices)

Duration | 2.50

NOTE: This is not an arrangement of a traditional Irish song. It is a traditional Irish text set to music by Michael McGlynn. All programme notes or attributions must reflect this fact as they would any other composer’s work.

Many of the traditional songs of the West of Ireland refer to the sea. This piece uses fragments of existing song texts to create a series of images associated with the lives of fisherman. Complex rhythms and strongly ethnic harmonies can be combined with a dramatic stage presentation – just let fly!

Note that this order includes an IPA and MP3 pronunciation guide with versions in US Letter and A4 formats.
