Flowers

Flowers

“Flowers” is an original song with music and text written by Michael McGlynn and set for Mixed Choir and Piano. It comes from the larger work Flowers, Sunshine and Shadows. This is a light and delicate work best suited to a larger ensemble [plus 18 singers] but would work with a full-voiced smaller ensemble. The song depicts the world of a small baby.

• Mixed Voice Choir and Piano

Commissioned by Florida Atlantic University Department of Music, Boca Raton, Florida and premiered March 2013

The piece comes with a score formatted in US Letter and A4.

Flowers

I sing flower,

Pretty flower

Sun, warm, cold water

Rainy shower.

Water trickle

Daddy tickle

Shiny bell ringing,

Mommy singing…

Soft, cool pillow

Curtain billow,

Little star peeping,

Teddy sleeping…

I sing shower,

Pretty flower

Shiny bell ringing,

Mommy singing…
