Carolan’s Farewell (Orch. Vln solo)

Duration | 3.40

Just before the great Irish harper Turlough Ó Carolan died he composed this beautiful melody. Michael’s arrangement is set for Violin solo, with a strong role for harp.

Michael says “this enigmatic, intense and lengthy melodic line is one of Ó Carolan’s finest and its strange sinuous line has always haunted me. My arrangement was created for my friend Linda Lampenius whose passionate playing casts a new light on this wonderful melody”.
