7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Store uses cookies and similar technologies to provide essential website functionality, remember consent choices and, where permission has been given, measure website usage.

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Some cookies are required for the Store to operate, while others are optional.

7.1 Essential or functional cookies

Essential cookies are required for the operation, security and functionality of the Store. They may be used for:

  • Shopping cart functionality
  • Checkout functionality
  • Customer account login and authentication
  • Remembering session information
  • Providing secure payment and fraud-prevention functionality
  • Remembering cookie consent choices
  • Maintaining website security

These cookies are activated without optional consent because they are necessary to provide the Store and services requested by the user.

7.2 Preference cookies

Preference cookies may remember choices or settings such as:

  • Website or account preferences
  • Language settings, where available
  • Currency settings, where available
  • Display or interface preferences

Where preference cookies are not strictly necessary, they will be controlled through the cookie consent system.

7.3 Statistics and analytics cookies

With your consent, the Store uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the Store and to help improve its content, performance and customer experience.

Google Analytics may process information such as:

  • Pages viewed
  • Approximate location
  • Browser and device information
  • Referral source
  • Interactions with pages
  • Time and date of visits

Google Analytics and its associated cookies are blocked until you actively consent to statistics cookies through the cookie banner. Rejecting statistics cookies does not prevent you from using the essential features of the Store.

7.4 Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies or services will only be activated where they are used by the Store and you have provided the necessary consent. They may be used to measure campaigns or provide content from third-party platforms.

If the Store does not use marketing cookies, selecting or rejecting this category will not affect the operation of the Store.

7.5 Managing or withdrawing cookie consent

When you first visit the Store, you can accept, reject or manage optional cookie categories through the cookie banner.

You may change or withdraw your consent at any time by opening the Cookie Preferences facility available on the Store. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

You may also delete cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling essential cookies may affect shopping cart, checkout, login or other necessary Store functionality.

8. Contact Forms and Customer Communications

If you contact us through a contact form or by email, we use the information you provide to:

  • Respond to your enquiry
  • Provide customer support
  • Resolve an order or account issue
  • Maintain a record of our communication where reasonably necessary

We do not use information submitted through customer service or contact forms for unrelated marketing unless you have separately consented to receive such communications.

9. Who We Share Personal Data With

We do not sell personal data. We only share personal data where necessary to operate the Store, fulfil orders, comply with legal obligations or provide services requested by customers.

Recipients may include:

  • Payment service providers, including Stripe and PayPal,
for payment processing, fraud prevention, refunds and disputes
  • Website hosting and infrastructure providers, where
required to host, secure, back up or operate the Store
  • Website support and maintenance providers, where access
is necessary to maintain or troubleshoot the Store
  • Email service providers, for transactional order and
    account communications
  • Delivery or postal providers, where a physical product
    must be delivered
  • Google Analytics, only where statistics consent has been
    provided
  • Professional advisers, such as accountants, auditors or
    legal advisers, where reasonably necessary
  • Revenue, tax authorities, regulators, courts or law-enforcement
    authorities
, where disclosure is legally required

Service providers are permitted to use personal data only as necessary to provide their services or meet their own legal obligations.

10. International Data Transfers

Some service providers may process personal data outside Ireland or the European Economic Area.

Where personal data is transferred internationally, we will rely on an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism where required, such as:

  • An adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission
  • European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses
  • Other safeguards permitted under applicable data protection law

11. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including the provision of customer account services, continuing access to purchases, and compliance with legal obligations.

11.1 Active customer accounts and continuing access

Customer account information and the purchase history needed to provide continuing access to purchased scores, licences, certificates, downloads and updated material will normally be retained:

  • For as long as the customer keeps the account open; and
  • For as long as ANÚNA Teoranta continues to provide the relevant account,
    download or access service.

This retention is necessary because customers may return many years after a purchase to download material again, obtain a licence or certificate, or access an updated version of a purchased work.

11.2 Account closure and deletion requests

A customer may request closure of their account by contacting info@anuna.ie.

When an account is closed, personal data that is no longer necessary for the provision of services, compliance with legal obligations, dispute resolution or another lawful purpose will be deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

Closing an account may mean that the customer will no longer be able to log in, download previously purchased material, obtain licences or certificates, or access updated versions of purchased works.

11.3 Tax, VAT and accounting records

Even where a customer account is closed, ANÚNA Teoranta is required to retain certain transaction records for tax, VAT, accounting and legal purposes.

Order records, invoices, VAT records, payment records and associated accounting information will normally be retained for six years, or for a longer period where required because of an ongoing audit, investigation, dispute, legal claim or other statutory requirement.

Access to information retained for these purposes will be restricted, and it will not be used to continue providing account access or for unrelated marketing.

11.4 Information that may be deleted

Following account closure or a valid deletion request, we will delete or anonymise personal data that is no longer required, which may include:

  • Optional account profile information
  • Saved addresses that are no longer required
  • Account preferences
  • Contact form information that is no longer necessary
  • Technical or support information no longer required
  • Other personal data not subject to a legal retention requirement

Information forming part of a legally required order, invoice, VAT or accounting record may continue to be retained until the applicable retention period has expired.

12. Account Closure and Data Protection Requests

Customers cannot currently close their account directly through the Store. Account closure and personal data requests are handled manually.

To request account closure, access to personal data, correction, deletion or another GDPR right, please email info@anuna.ie.

We may need to request reasonable information to verify your identity before
processing a request. This is to ensure that personal data is not disclosed,
changed or deleted at the request of an unauthorised person.

We will respond within the period required by applicable data protection law. Where a request is particularly complex or involves several requests, the response period may be extended where legally permitted, and we will inform you where this applies.

13. Your Data Protection Rights

Subject to the conditions and limitations set out in applicable law, you may have the following rights:

  • Right of access: to request a copy of personal data we
    hold about you
  • Right to rectification: to request correction of
    inaccurate or incomplete personal data
  • Right to erasure: to request deletion of personal data
where there is no lawful reason for its continued retention
  • Right to restriction: to request that processing be
    restricted in certain circumstances
  • Right to data portability: to receive certain personal
data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format
  • Right to object: to object to processing based on
    legitimate interests in certain circumstances
  • Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on
    your consent
  • Right to complain: to lodge a complaint with a data
    protection supervisory authority

These rights are not absolute. For example, we may be required to retain certain order, invoice, VAT and accounting information even where an account closure or deletion request has been received.

To exercise your rights, contact info@anuna.ie.

15. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against:

  • Unauthorised access
  • Accidental or unlawful loss
  • Alteration
  • Disclosure
  • Destruction
  • Misuse

These measures may include access controls, secure connections, software updates, backups, authentication controls, payment-provider security measures and restrictions on access to personal data.

16. Children’s Privacy
